Its Official - Lazy J to headline THE BASELINE Friday 28th October
Lazy J are a four piece band from the West Midlands, England. Their music is a fusion of funk, blues and rock which draws influence from a diverse range of artists such as George Clinton, Led Zeppelin, Jane's Addiction, James Brown, and Reef.Kerrang FM have played an active part in creating a surge of interest in Lazy J by giving their songs regular airplay and broadcasting interviews with the foursome, as well as voting them 'Unsigned band of the year'.
In summer 2006, tracks from the band's EP Inner City Funktion received critical acclaim from Steve Craddock of Ocean Colour Scene, while 2008 saw the release of the band's first full length studio album, entitled Kick The Spin. After 2 years in the making, the band released their second album Dysfunctional in 2011.
Outside the studio Lazy J are constantly gigging, having played headline sets at Camden Underworld, Birmingham Academy, The Yardbird (Birmingham), JB's Dudley and having also performed at Sound Leicester Square, Carlsberg Unsigned Festival, Storm Leicester Square and The Garage (London).

P.A. HIRE
We have had so many instances of bands wishing to hire P.A.'s from us that we now have a dedicated hire system, packaged and ready to go at a moment,s notice. Our popular system which is regularl;y used at such venues as "The Old Foundry" and "The Lamp Tavern" consists of:
Carlsbro pmx 8-2 XP 600w Powered Mixer
2 x 500w P.A. Speakers
3 x dynamic Microphones
3 x Boom Mic stands
2 x Speaker tripods
all signal and power leads
all for £40 per night
ROOM 3 - an update
All our rooms can cater for keyboards without the need to clutter the vocal P.A. systems. The two largest rooms have their own dedicated P.A. for keyboards and accoustic instruments whilst the two smaller rooms have separate bass amps for this purpose. Pictured below is our dedicated keyboard workstation in room 3 with the studio's own KORG cxT3 keyboard.
Room 3 also has two LANEY 100 watt amp heads with 4 x 12 Torque and Marshall Speaker cabs. Added to the Ludwig drumkit, Fender Rumble Bass combo, vintage H&H V-S Musician 100watt lead combo and H&H Performer 707S P.A. with Carlsbro 300 watt heads and Laney Sub woofers, this is an ideal location for any band. All instrument amps are now fitted with heavy duty castors making it easy to reconfigure the room to your requirements.

THE BASELINE 23rd & 24th September
The next Baseline Sessions will be on Friday & Saturday 23rd & 24th September @ 8.00pm. Three great bands each night. Friday: Cover-Up will be our first band on followed by our house band, The Picture who, for the first time at The Baseline will play a full set. The Headline band, Target by Numbers have come a long way since they played their first ever gig at The Baseline on our opening night in February. Apart from reaching the monthly finals at THE ROBIN's battle of the bands 2011 competition, they have been back to The Robin to support some major bands since. Saturday: We have invited Rough at the Edge to be our house band. Their first appearance 2 months ago attracted much critical acclaim so we have asked them to kick this evening off. Local lads Death by Disco are also booked and are well worth a listen after recently headlining at the O2 in Birmingham. Details of our third, and maybe even forth bands will appear shortly.
